Program Description: Many of our clients at Mary’s Place are looking to gain meaningful employment to support their families here in the United States. Workplace culture around the world is so drastically different that we want to explain some of the more difficult to understand cultural differences in the American workforce. We also prepare them for the job hunt processes, make resumes, conduct mock interviews, and provide job coaching if permitted by the employer. On Mondays, Mary’s Place hosts Resume Writing Workshops where individuals can receive one-on-one resume writing assistance.

Program Days/Times: Class time: Wednesday-Thursday 11-12:30. Resume writing workshops: Mondays 11-4.

Volunteer Description: Volunteers will help people with mock interviews, discuss career goals with them, design resumes for them, conduct mock interviews, and then work with them as they progress through the Job acquisition process. Assist individuals create resumes.

Time Commitment: 1.5 Hours per day 2 days per week during a semester of the class (8 weeks)

Training:  Volunteers will be trained by the Program Director at a designated date/time.
